The film reel should have snapped decades ago. But mysteriously, the only snapping seems to be the necks of the moviegoers. There’s something strangely horrifying about these old animated cartoons. Maybe it’s the lifeless eyes—or the way the characters come to life and stare at you from your bedroom closet while you’re sleeping. Hard to say!

Grab your popcorn and maybe a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire while you’re at it. These old-timey matinee toons keep whispering something about the “silver scream”… and everything’s fading to black.
